At Yuletide, tour H. F. du Pont’s house decorated for the holidays and enjoy the elegance of du Pont family entertaining. An array of special events and performances plus opportunities for shopping and dining promise to make your season bright. Unless otherwise noted, the following activities are free to Members and are included in Yuletide admission.

Winterthur is open daily (including Mondays) during Yuletide. Visit admissions for our regular hours of operation and see below for extended hours and early closings during Yuletide.

Saturdays and Sundays in December (except December 28 & 29), 9:00 am–2:00 pm
Santa will appear from 9:00–11:00 am

- December 5–8: Receive a free gift with every purchase of $60 or more in the Museum Stores through December 8.
- December 13–15: Trunk Show in the Galleries Reception Area

Floral Workshop: “Tabletop Dried Flower Tree”
December 8, 2:00–4:30 pm
This popular program sold out last year, so register early! Create your own dried flower tree. Trees and dried flower material provided. $100 per Member. $125 per nonmember.
Floral Workshop: “Holiday Centerpiece”
December 10, 6:00–8:00 pm
Come and create a holiday centerpiece of a variety of evergreens and flowers of the season. Flowers and containers provided. Please bring clippers. $55 per Member. $70 per nonmember.
Teacher Workshop: “Yuletide!”
December 7, 9:30 am–12:30 pm
Investigate the origins of a few of our favorite traditions. Active teachers only. Call 800.448.3883 to register. $15 per person. Members free. Credit is available through the Delaware Teacher Center.
Yuletide Jazz & Wine Series
November 27 and December 4, 11 & 18, 6:00–8:30 pm
Relax and celebrate the season with a glass of wine, beautiful decorations, and lively jazz. Cash bar (wine and beer); fruit and cheese for purchase. Members free. Included with a Yuletide general admission ticket. For nonmembers who are not purchasing a Yuletide general admission ticket, tickets are $10 and include live jazz, entry to the Galleries, and a $2 drink ticket for your first drink.

Special Live Performance of A Christmas Carol
Thursday, December 12, 1:00 and 6:00 pm
This heartwarming one-man show is performed by Gerald Charles Dickens, the great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens, who depicts 26 characters of the classic tale. A book and gift signing will follow. The Visitor Center Café will be open until 6:00 pm. Performance-only tickets: $15 per Member; $18 per nonmember; and $10 for children under 12. The Look of Love: Eye Miniatures from the Skier Collection
On loan from the Birmingham Museum of Art, this unique exhibition features hand-painted portraits of individual eyes. The trend for this art form, fragile watercolors on tiny pieces of ivory ensconced in myriad jewelry forms, dates back to the late 18th century and began with a love story. Guided gallery walks are offered Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30 & 2:30 pm.
