Winterthur Girl Scout Programs
Winterthur offers an exciting array of programs just for Girl Scouts! Come earn your "Social Butterfly", "Textile Artist" or "Flowers" badges, proceed on your "Flower Garden Journey" or just take a tour with your troop.
The cost for each program varies and is listed below. Admission for parents who would like to visit the museum while their daughter is participating in a program is $15.

A Stitch In Time: Embroidery at Winterthur
October 25, 2014; 9:30am–12:30 pm
Visit Winterthur’s world-renowned collection of early American embroidery, many pieces of which were made by girls like you! Learn basic embroidery tips and techniques, which you will use to create a beautiful pendant and a wallet inspired by pocketbooks once made as gifts for good friends. $14 per girl
Girl Scout Day at Winterthur

Show your Girl Scout pride while taking the Yuletide tour at Winterthur! See beautiful Christmas decorations and learn a little about historic holiday traditions. The first 50 girls who register and come take the tour in uninform will receive a free Yuletide at Winterthur patch. Call 800.448.3883 to register.
March 21, 2015; 1:30–4:30 pm
Earn your Social Butterfly badge as you explore the art of entertaining guests at a country estate in the 1930s. After touring the Winterthur house, you will learn the skills you need to be a gracious hostess and will plan elements of your own fabulous party. $12 per girl
Daisy Flower Garden Journey
May 2, 2015; 1:30–3:30 pm
Take a step on your Flower Garden Journey during this fun-filled exploration of the Winterthur Garden. $8 per girl
The Zen of Gardening
April 25, 2015; 9:30am–12:30 pm
Not just a pretty face! With the Winterthur Garden as a laboratory, earn the "Flowers" badge while finding out how flowers function and recording your experience in a garden journal. Make a dried flower sachet and learn how to create a flower arrangement from plants that grow in Delaware. $12 per girl
For all programs, please note: Winterthur is located off Route 52 (Kennett Pike) 6 miles north of Wilmington and 6 miles south of Route 1 in Pennsylvania. Please use the address 5105 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807 for GPS devices. Park in the Visitor Lot and then walk down the path to the Visitor Center to meet for the program. Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the listed start time. For Flowers and Gardener activities, please wear clothing and shoes appropriate for adventures in the garden.
