Gauvin Alexander Bailey, professor and Alfred and Isabel Bader Chair in Southern Baroque Art, Queen's University, Kingston, Canada, will examine how missionaries from Catholic religious orders, such as the Jesuits and Franciscans, because of their privileged position in the vanguard of European expansion into both Asia and Native America, were able to connect visual cultures of profoundly different peoples across vast distances. $5 per Member.$15 per nonmember.
