FIRST RACE
THE ISABELLA du PONT SHARP MEMORIAL

(Maiden Timber)
Purse $15,000. Timber. For Four-Year-Olds and Upward, which have never won over timber. Four-year-olds, 155 lbs.; five-year-olds, 160 lbs.; older, 165 lbs. Entry fee $75; $75 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday; with $150 additional to start.
Three Miles and One Quarter over Timber.


SECOND RACE
THE WINTERTHUR BOWL

(Open Timber)
Purse $25,000. Timber. For Five-Year-Olds and Upward.
Five-year olds, 160 lbs.; older, 165 lbs. Non-winners over timber: of two races, allowed 5 lbs.; of a race, 10 lbs. Entry fee $125; $125 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday, with $250 additional to start.
Three Miles and One Quarter over Timber.


THIRD RACE
THE VICMEAD PLATE
(Amateur Apprentice Timber)
Purse $10,000. Timber. For Five-Year-Olds and Upward, which have not won $9,000 once in 2014–2015. To be ridden by amateur apprentice riders.
175 lbs. Non-winners over timber, allowed 5 lbs. Entry fee $50; $50 additional if not scratched on time Wednesday; with $100 additional to start.
Three Miles and One Quarter over Timber.
$5,000 of this purse, and an engraved silver goblet to the rider, have been donated by the National Steeplechase Foundation, for the promotion of amateur racing.


FOURTH RACE
THE MIDDLETOWN CUP
(Training Flat)
For Three-Year-Olds and Upward. To be ridden by amateur riders.
Three-year olds, 150 lbs.; older, 160 lbs. Entry fee $50. .The result of this race does not count toward a horse’s official record. A $500 award to the owner and the trainer of the winner.

Pony Races


1. 2014 Conditions
 

Small Pony
Open to ponies under 13.0 hands, children under 16 years of age as of 1/1/15, catch weights, 3 entries to fill. If size of pony is questioned, the owner is responsible for verification. About four furlongs on the turf.
 

Large Pony
Open to ponies over 13.0 hands and under 14.2 hands, children under 16 years of age as of 1/1/15, catch weights, 3 entries to fill. If size of pony is questioned, the owner is responsible for verification. About six furlongs on the turf.

3. General Information 
Winterthur’s pony races are named for long-time rider and equestrian, Alison Hershbell. Alison’s parents, Charlene and Dave, have dedicated many years volunteering at the Winterthur Point-to-Point, where Alison once rode. It is an honor to recognize her outstanding contributions.


Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each of the two divisions and to the “best turned out” horse in each race.


Entries
Winterthur will be taking online entries for both the Small and Large Pony Races until Monday, April 27 at 11:00am, when it promptly closes. No post entries will be allowed. The fee is $25.


Insurance and Indemnification

You will be required to show proof of insurance and to sign an indemnity agreement at the time you claim your number cloth on race day. No exceptions to this rule.


Race Procedures

Please be on the grounds by 10:30 am to check in with pony race coordinator Charlene Hershbell at the Tower. Paddock time will be 11:30 am for both the Small and Large Pony Races. Post time for the small ponies will be 12:00 noon. Post time for the large ponies will be immediately after the end of the Small Pony Race. Medals will be awarded to the winner of each of the two divisions. Prizes go to "best turned out horse" in each race sponsored by Outback Clothing Company


Parking and Admission
Each entry will be issued (3) admission bands and (2) parking passes. Any additional may be purchased and paid for online. All parking hangtags must be clearly displayed in your vehicle. Admission wristbands must be worn by participants at all times.


Lunch

Those with proper credentials to the Horseman Hospitality Tent will be admitted for lunch. Each jockey is welcome to have lunch in this tent with two guests of his/her choice. Each guest must have proper credentials. A limited amount of additional guest wristbands may be purchased for $25 each when registering for the race. Questions? Call 302.888.4994.
