Museum Programs


History through Fiction Book Club

First Tuesday of every month (except October), 10:00 am–12:00 pm
Join us during this three-month series, where we will dsicuss classic and new works that illuminate American life and examine relevant objects from the Winterthur collection. $20 per member / $30 per nonmember for the entire three-month series. Registration required by September 22. Call 800.448.3883 to register.

Second Friday of every month, 1:00–3:00 pm
Reconnect with your creative side while finding your inspiration in the Winterthur collection.  Each meeting features a show-and-tell about different objects in the museum or library and ample time to complete a small project to take home. Members only. $10 per person. Registration required by one week prior to each meeting.

Wheat Paste
October 14, 1:00–3:00 pm
Learn the traditional technique of painting with wheat paste. Members only. Registration required. $10 per person per session. Attendance limited.

Kitchen Lithography
November 11, 1:00–3:00 pm
Try your hand at the lithographic process using standard household materials.Members only. Registration required. $10 per person per session. Attendance limited.

Unusual Snowflakes
December 9, 1:00-3:00 pm
Make a few festive snowflakes using unusual materials. Members only. $10 per person, per session. Registration is required.Attendance limited.

Brushes with History

Dried Flower Tree
Saturday, December 10, 10:00 am-12:30 pm
Get creative this holiday season and join us for a brunch cocktail and painting. An instructor will take you step-by-step through creating a painting inspired by the dried flower tree after a mini-tour of the holiday decorations at Winterthur! Includes two drink tickets, pastries, and all art supplies. $45 for non-members, $40 members.
