Terrific Tuesdays

Tuesdays in July and August

10:00 am–3:00 pm

Terrific Tuesdays will explore materials used to create objects in the museum and the garden this summer. In July, kids will explore different materials, including: ceramic, paper, wood, and textiles. Each week will focus on a different medium with crafts and activities, a guest conservator, and a local craftsman.

In August, Terrific Tuesdays shifts to the garden where we will explore different areas of the garden, including the Reflecting Pool, Sundial Garden, Brown's Meadow, Quarry Garden, and Pinetum. Each area will have its own unique crafts:

Reflecting Pool:

  • Ribbiting frogs
  • Mythological creature metamorphosis book
  • Dancing Harry puppet
  • Balloon flower arrangements
  • Tinfoil boat racing
  • Ballon twisting with community expert from DAPA Balloons

Sundial Garden:

  • Pollinator bath bombs
  • Garden design game
  • Cyanotypes
  • Flower pot sundials
  • Foil flower pencils
