JOB TITLE:  Part-time Temp Visitor Experience Host July-Dec

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  Will provide exceptional guest relations and enhance the guest experience by personally greeting, welcoming and directing visitors to appropriate queues; along with answering questions and providing accurate tours, grounds and exhibit information. With an emphasis on customer service he/she will act as a host of Winterthur to ensure efficiency and speediness of visitor services at appropriate locations. In addition, this position will be asked to assist with the operations for the Visitor Services team, including restocking of brochures, resolving guest concerns/inquiries and promoting special offers, membership and programs. He/she will also attend appropriate training and conduct POS transactions as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent degree. Minimum knowledge/skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to multitask. Comfortable interacting with a wide range of guests. Flexible. Ability to stay calm and courteous with continually changing situations including disgruntled guests. Be energetic, vibrant, and passionate about Winterthur. Retain detailed information well. Must be able to work weekends, some evenings and some holidays, as needed, especially during spring tour season, Yuletide and other special events; have a flexible schedule. Strong organizational and customer service skills. Strong ability to listen to and comprehend what others say. Must be able to stand and walk about, including Visitor Center inclined path for up to 7 hours with intermittent seated time while staffing the VCR and GRA. Minimum experience: 1-3 years of customer service/concierge experience.

JOB TITLE:  Audio Visual Technician, part-time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  Will provide Audio Video support to events, conferences, lectures, weddings etc. This heavily weekend and evening hour position will be expected to ensure the proper functioning of presentations using a PC platform. He/she set up systems, troubleshoot A/V equipment when there are technical questions or problems related to A/V equipment and identify appropriate solutions as well as shut down systems appropriately. This positions works directly with speakers, internal staff and special guests so customer service is important when resolving issues. He/she understands company processes, follows procedures, completes paperwork accurately as well as uses work order sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for use.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum knowledge/skills: Basic understanding of computer operating systems with audio and video cards, projector, amplifier as well as microphone operation and maintenance. Flexible schedule, with ability to work weekends and evenings. Knowledge of PCs and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate well and creatively resolve AV issues. Team player. Ability to work under pressure. Good customer service skills. Minimum experience: Six months experience specifically doing computer/AV duties.

JOB TITLE:  Part-time Program Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  Will assist in planning, maintaining, evaluating, and implementing adult educational programs that further the understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of Winterthur’s resources - estate, naturalistic garden, library, American decorative arts, historic architecture, and fine art – and attracts a larger and broader adult audience. He/she will assist in coordination of items on the program development schedule, as well as stay within budget and evaluate individual programs as assigned, including logistical details of assigned programs and facilitating inter/intradepartmental communication. He/she will also conduct museum tours for the general public and special guests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum education: B.A. or B.S. in history, art history, American civilization, museum studies, education or related field. Minimum knowledge/skills: Excellent organizational skills on an interpersonal level. Strong communication, presentation, resource and writing skills. Strong working knowledge of basic software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite. Some logistics and resource coordination skills. Able to work on individual & team projects. Detailed and team oriented. Good understanding of budgets and project timetables. Able to work with a range of constituents. Some skills in educational program development and implementation. Minimum experience: 2 years of paid or unpaid experience in any kind of museum adult training/teaching, program development or coordination of programs/events capacity.

JOB TITLE:  Public Safety Officer, Jun-Dec Part-time Temp

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provides for the safety and security of Winterthur staff, visitors, guests, collections and assets. By design, the Public Safety Officer I is easily recognizable and approachable, therefore, he/she must approach every person and situation with a calm and professional demeanor. He/she is often the first contact visitors have with Winterthur and the one first approached in an emergency or other assistance seeking situation. This is an entry level position into public safety occupied by full time and part time personnel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum education: high school diploma or its equivalence. If there is prior military service, an honorable discharge is required. Minimum knowledge/skills: A valid driver?s license is required with no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs within three years of application. A certified copy of the applicant?s driving record will be provided by the applicant upon request. The applicant can not have a criminal conviction record for theft or sex related offenses. The applicant must be in adequate physical condition to climb stairs (nine stories), walk/stand for extended periods of time (eight hours) and work outdoors during all types of weather and physically move persons in need of assistance. The ability to perform these tasks will be determined by a physical fitness evaluation administered after a conditional offer of employment has been made. Applicants need to be able to operate a full size pick up truck during all day and night time hours and weather and road conditions. Proficient oral communication and strong written communication skills. Minimum experience: proven work history with supporting references.
