Our beautiful, 60-acre garden and 1,000 acres of rolling hills, streams, meadows, and forests provide a powerful and peaceful natural setting in which to follow your individual body, mind, spirit approach toward achieving optimal wellness!
Wellness at Winterthur is an exclusive program that includes yoga classes, guided meditation, and lectures. In addition, Members are encouraged to walk our grounds from dawn to dusk, as part of the many benefits of Winterthur membership.

National Walking Day

Join Dr. Meredith Perny, physical therapist, on an introductory fitness walk exploring Winterthur’s rich network of paved pathways. Meredith will teach you best practices such as monitoring your heart rate, using the landscape to assist in stretching, and developing a safe progression to increase fitness.

Introduction to Walking and Running at Winterthur

Learn how to make the most of walking and running on this famous country estate with 10 miles of roads, nearly 1,000 acres of scenery, and readily accessible staff. Members free. Included with Admission.

Gentle Yoga, Year-Round
Try practicing yoga in a beautiful garden setting, strengthening your body and spirit every Thursday. Our yoga class is open to all levels. We will practice slow, easy motions to get into the rhythm of nature. The tone and pace of the class will activate your internal energy and guide you to connect to your deepest essence, so you leave feeling peaceful yet revitalized. Led by Beth Sheehy. Bring Yoga mat, small towel, and a water bottle. Wear layers appropriate to the season. Classes are rain or shine and will meet at the Brown Learning Center at 9:00 am and move outdoors as weather permits. Drop-in rate of $10. No advance registration necessary. Members may bring a friend. Capacity: 30 people.
Introduction to Guided Meditation
First and Third Thursdays of each month, May–September, 10:00 am
Monthly meditation sessions will guide you in settling your mind and opening your heart. We will use imagery, visualizations, mindfulness of body and breath, and the environment of Winterthur to cultivate relaxation, a sense of well-being, and appreciation of the natural beauty all around us. Led by Alison Smith Driscoll, Therese Jornlin, and others. Bring an open mind and heart! Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Classes are rain or shine and will meet at the Brown Learning Center and move to a nearby outdoor location as weather permits. Register for each class by calling 800.448.3883. $10 per class. - May 11, 10:00 am: Alan Tillotson, “Healing Power of Herbs.” Enjoy an introduction to herbal medicine and how it can be used for common ailments.
