- A Royal Treat: For the senses – The airy white umbels of Queen Anne’s lace (Daucus carota) in the meadows and the fragrance of white ‘Royal Standard’ hostas (Hosta ‘Royal Standard’) blooming throughout the gardens, but most abundantly behind the Brown Horticultural Center along the pathway to Azalea Woods, below Icewell Terrace, along the back glass wall of the Crowninshield Building, behind the sunken courtyard trellis at the Reflecting Pool, and at the east corner of the Gallery along Clenny Run.
- Primary Colors: The Quarry Garden is blooming in red cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), yellow black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) and blue tube clematis (Clematis heracleiafolia var. davidiana) and purple great blue lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica). Check out the butterflies visiting them for nectar.
- Panicle Hydrangeas: The pee gee hydrangeas (Hydrangea paniculata ‘Grandiflora’) are blooming at the entry gates, on the Summer Shrub Slope, on the lower Museum terrace near the Reflecting Pool, and on Sycamore Hill.
- Still Magic: Light pink magic lilies (Lycoris squamigera) are in full bloom in the field along Cutting Garden Lane. They are in petal fall throughout the gardens.
