Hamamelis virginiana-Witch Hazel

Check these out:

  • Cherry blossoms:  The autumn rosebud cherry (Prunus subhirtella ‘Autumnalis’) is blooming along Garden Lane at the far side of the Pinetum.
  • Brilliant berries:  The bright red berries of willow-leaf cotoneaster give a festive look to the fence on Sycamore Hill.
  • Witch hazel:  Common witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) unfurls the narrow yellow ‘ribbons’ of its blooms in Enchanted Woods and at the parking lot wall behind the Carriage House.
